Our Juicy Tube Craze

The doll’s house is practically drowning in Juicy Tube lip glosses at the moment. Ok, so that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but we do love the complete range; each with a different shade, scent and taste (I know you’re not really supposed to eat them).

It turns out that we are in very good company with many a celeb pout wearing the famous Lancome shimmer. Check out the following ladies that are joining us in our Juicy Tube craze.

Getting in the festival spirit

The time for summer music festivals is creeping closer and that means the time has come for me to begin pondering how much I can cram into my wash bag! Whilst my best friend Koko thinks I’m mad for even considering camping, I actually do enjoy it. I don’t, however, enjoy the ‘I’ve lived in mud’ look and I find that a few beauty essentials are needed to keep my skin looking and feeling fresh.

So the timing couldn’t be better for the arrival of this amazing Benefit The Big Ten set in the world of Dollymixture.

All the products are the perfect travel size and gives me the essentials (plus a couple of treats).  Included in the pack are ‘the porefessional’ to reduce the appearance of pores and give a smooth touch to the skin, ‘that girl’ a brightening primer, ‘stay don’t stray’ a great primer to use under concealers or eyeshadow, ‘ooh la lift’ to hide the effects of tired eyes, ‘erase paste’ a handy concealer, ‘high beam’ a highlighter, ‘dandylion’ a simple facepowder, and ‘bella bamba’ for a blush. Then ‘benetint’ and ‘positint’ give me a choice of colours for lip and cheek stain.  All I need is a small bottle of cleanser and I think I’m sorted!

Now, can I remember how to put a tent up?!

Lana Del Rey rocking the beauty world

In the Dolls House we are huge fans of Lana Del Rey so it came as no surprise to learn that she has been an inspiration to some of the top make up artists.  Charlotte Tilbury created a super sassy look for MAC at the DSquared2 Autumn/Winter fashion show which she described as “1960s prom girls meet Lana Del Rey”, and what a combination that turns out to be!

The look features dramatic eyes with a feline kick, and nude lips.  We love trying to recreate this look ourselves with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish for a natural skin tone, and Bad Gal Waterproof Ink Eyeliner Pen for the gorgeous cat’s eyes.  I think we’ll be starting the Autumn/Winter trend a little early this year! Let us know what you think.

Lazy weekends

It’s the beginning of a long weekend and I’m looking forward to kicking back and relaxing with the rest of the dolls.  Chances are we’ll get carried away with ourselves and a day of shopping and chatting will slip seamlessly into an evening of dancing (and more chatting) without us even knowing it.

This does have one drawback of needing an outfit that will be casual enough for the daytime, but dressy enough for the evening.

One thing is for sure, I’ve got my eye makeup sorted with this cute eye palette.  The pretty purple will suit my daytime look, but has enough depth of colour to carry me through to the evening.  Best of all the quirky design has been based on Yves Saint Laurent luggage tags so I can fix it to my handbag for a retouch in the day. Perfect!
